The Relish Story
Malton Relish is my award winning delicatessen, right in the heart of Malton, the quintessential market town in Ryedale, North Yorkshire.
I first opened the doors of Relish in the winter of 2007, determined to bring together some of the wonderful local food and produce to the visitors and locals of the town. I felt Malton needed a foodie haven, where the best that Yorkshire has to offer can be bought, eaten and generally enjoyed.
I have worked in the food industry since 1996, running hotels and restaurants from the ski slopes of France to the tiger reserves of India and am passionate about good food, cooked to perfection.
Each day the deli counter shines and sparkles as it displays our creations; gourmet daily specials, artisan cakes, seasonally inspired ready meals and novel vegetarian delights. All are produced on site each day which also means unique dietary requirements can easily be catered for.
We buy our meat, fish and vegetables through reputable local butchers, fishmongers and greengrocers. The majority of it is local and whenever possible the meat is free range. We believe that it is our responsibility to cook with ingredients that we can vouch for, and being locals we know most of the farmers. Please feel free to ask a member of the team any questions about the cooking methods or quality of produce.
